By -law No. 68 -3
A by -law to rescind By -law No. 1482,
a by -law to provide for the payment
of a poll tax.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town
of Bowmanville passed on the 4th day of April, 1949, By -law
No. 1482 to provide for the payment of a poll tax pursuant to
the provisions of The Statute Labour Act;
AND WHEREAS it is the opinion of Council that the
imposition of a poll tax is no longer a just and equitable levy;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the
Town of Bowmanville hereby ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That By -law No. 1482 be and is hereby repealed.
READ a first, second and third time and finally passed this
day of March, 1968.
