THE CORPORATION OF THE
TOWN OF BOWMANVILLE
BY -LAW NO. 1972
Being a by -law to consolidate the sums authorized
to be borrowed by By -laws Nos. 1987, 1990, 1927 as
amended by 19$$0 1991, 1946 as amended by 19$9 and
1957 as amended by 1973 into one sum of $268,300.00
and to borrow same by the issue of debentures therefor.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Bowmanville has passed By -laws Nos. 1987, 1990, 1927 as amended
by By -law No. 1988, 1991, 1946 as amended by By -law No. 1989 and
1957 as amended by By -law No. 1973, authorizing the borrowing of
the respective amounts of $102,800.00, $24,000.00, $54,500.00,
$9,200.00, X53,$00.00 and $24,000.00, upon the credit of the
Corporation and tht issue of debentures therefor, for the purpose
of constructing a sanitary sewer, watermain and bridge, certain
works as local improvements, a public library, a works department
building and industrial land purchase;
AND WHEREAS the Council deems it expedient to borrow for
the above purposes a sum not exceeding $268,300.00 upon the credit
of the Corporation and to issue one series of debentures therefor
bearing interest payable annually, at the rate of 64% shown in
Schedule "A" attached to and forming part of this by-law;
AND WHEREAS By -law No. 1957 provides for the repayment of
the principal of the debt in ten annual instalments and the remain-
der of the aforementioned by -laws provide for repayment in twenty
years;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town
of Bowmanville ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The sums authorized to be borrowed under the authority of
By -laws Nos. 1987, 1990, 1927 as amended by 1988, 1991s 1946 as
amended by 1989 and 1957 as amended by 1973 are hereby consolidated
into one sum of $268,300.00 and the Corporation shall borrow upon
its credit the said sum of $268,300.00 and shall issue debentures
therefor.

2. Each debenture shall bear interest at the rate of 6.25 per
cent per annum as set out for the respective years in Schedule "ATM
attached to this by -law and shall have coupons attached thereto
for the payment of the said interest.
3. The debentures shall be dated the 1st day of November,
1966, and shall be made payable in twenty'(20) annual instalments
on the 1st day of November, in each of the years 1967 to 19$6,
both inclusive, and the respective amounts of principal and interest
payable in each of the said years shall be the amounts so designated
in Schedule "A" attached to and forming part of this by -law.
4. The debentures shall be payable as to both principal and
interest in lawful money of Canada, at the option of the holder,
at the Bank of Ebntreal in the Town of Bowmanville, or at the
principal office of the said Bank in the City of Toronto or the
City of Montreal.
5. The debentures shall be sealed with the seal of the Corp-
oration and signed by the head of the Council or by some other
person authorized by by -law to sign-the same and by the treasurer.
The said interest coupons shall be signed by the treasurer and his
signature to them may be written or engraved, lithographed, printed
or otherwise mechanically reproduced. The signature of the head

or otherwise mechanically reproduced.
6. The said debentures may contain a clause providing for the
registration thereof pursuant to Section 323 of The Municipal Act.
7. Application shall be made to the Ontario Municipal Board
for the approval of this By -law and for the certification of the
debentures to be issued thereunder pursuant to Part IV of the Ontario
Municipal Board Act.
8. The respective amounts authorized to be borrowed by by -laws
numbered 1987, 1990, 1927 as amended by 1988, 1991, 1946 as amended
by 1989, and 1957 as amended by 1973 respectively of the said Corp-
oration, are hereby consolidated in this by -law and no debentures
authorized by the said by -laws numbered 1987, 1990, 1927 as amended,
1991s 1946 as amended and 1957 as amended shall be issued other than
as provided in this by -law.
