A By -Law to provide for the establishment and ,
regulation of a volunteer fire department.
•
The Municipal Council of the lawn of Bowmanville en acts as follows;
A munici s hereby established- under

the authority of The Municipal Act to be known as the Bowmanvi] le
Volunteer Fire Department.

The department shall 'consist of a Chief, a Deputy Chief,
two Captains, and not less than sixteen fire fighters.

d ears of age or over; and not more than seventy years of age for the

sixty five years of age for other officers and sixty years of

The chief shall be appointed oy by -law paSao,

n 11. The deputy chief shall carry out the instructions of the
chief and shall assume the duties of the chief in his abscence, and
it shall be his ' duty to see that all apparatus, equipment and supplies
are kept in a clean and serviceable condition and ready for immediate a*

use and to detail fire fighters for such duties when necessary, and
he shall report immediately to the chief any deficiences or untoward
{
circumstances in connection with the same,
