)WHEREAS petitions have been received by the Council for the construction as
Local Improvements of the' works set forth in :3 �' tt

and the Clerk hu s certified that the petitions are sufficiently
signed and
it is expedient to •grant the prayer of the petitions in the manner hereN
it h
provided;
AND YHERLAS the "Council. has procured reports in regard to the works as
required b
Q y �ection 38 of the Local Improvement :pct.
NOW THEREFORE the Vunicipal Council of the Corporation 'of the Town of
Bowmanville enacts as follows;,
First;-'
That the report procured by the Council 1 in connection with the
works set forth in ►Schedule " A " Ilereto attached, be , and the same

That the .engineer' of t he ' Corporation do forth w

uch •plans
profiles 'and specifications and furnish ' such information as may be
necessary for the making of a contract for the execution of the work.
Fourth.;
That the' woek shall .be carried on and executed under the supervision .
and' according to the direction and orders of such .engineer.
Fifth;
That the Mayor and Clerk are authorized to cause a contract for the
°construct ion of the, work to be made and enet ered into with some
person, or persons, firm or ,corporation, subject to the approval of this,
Council to be declared by resolution.
Sixth;
That the Treasurer may, subject ,to the approval of the Council agree
with any, Bank or person for the temporary advances of money to meet
the cost of the work ' pending the completion of it*

That. the special assessment for each of the said. work, shall be;p'd by
the number of installments as set forth in C" 01 umn 6 of the said �
Schedule A
Eighth -
Tha4 'the debentures to be issued for the loan to be effected to pay
for the cost of each of the said works when completed shall bear
interest at such rate a s the Oouncil may determine ' and be made payable
on the installment plan, within, the number ' of •years as shown in
Column 6 of Schedule It A n
Ninth
That any person whobe lot 'is specially assessed may commute .four a
payment in cash the special rates imposed thereon by paying the
• portion of the cost of . construction assessed upon such lot without
t
the interest forthwith, after the, special a ssessment r611 has been
'certified by the Clerk, and at any time thereafer ,by the payment of
such sum as when invested at Three per cent. per annum will providd
an annuity sufficient to pay the special rates for the unexpired
portion of the term as they fall due.
