A By -Law of the Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville to aut horize the
oobstruction of certain works as Local Improvements 'under ,the . Local
Improvement Act

WHEREAS petitions have been received by the Council for the donstructi on
• as Local Improvements for the works set forth in Schedule " A " hereto
h.
annexed and the Clerk has certified that the petitions are sufficiently
signed and it is expedient to grant the prayer of the petitions i-n the
manner herewith provided ; -
AND WHEREAS.,the Council has procured reports in regard to the works as
required by Section 38 of the Local Improvement. Act e
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Bowmanville enacts as follows;
First ; -
'Xhat the report procured by the Council in connection with the works
set forth in Schedule " A " hereto attached be , and the same are
hereby approved and adopted, j
Second;
That the works set forth in Schedule " A " hereto attached shall be
constructed on the streets between the points as therein mentioned as
Local Improvements under the provisions of the.: Local Improvement A-ct .
Third;
That the Engineer of the -Corporation do forthwith make plans, profiles
and specifications and furnish such information as may be necessary

That °the work shall be carried on and executed under the supervision
and according to the direction and orders of such engineer.
Fifth;
That vthe Mayor and Clerk be authorized to cause a contract for the
construction of the work to be made and entered into with some
subject to the approval
person or persons, firm or corporation, of

this Council, to -be declared by ,re solution.
Sixth;
That the Treasurer, may,, subject to the approval of Council agree
with any Bank or person, for the temporary advances of money to meet
the cosh of the work pending the completion of it.
Seventh; _
That the special assessment for each of the said work shall be paid
by the number of installments as set forth in Column 6 of the said
Schedule A "
Eighth;
That the .debentures to be issued for the loan to be effected tp pay
for the cost of each of the said works when completed shall bear
interest at such rate , as the Council may determinsnd shall be
made payable on-the installment plan within the -_-nua er o f -year
as shown in Column 6 of said Schedule A
Ninth;
That any person whose lot is specially assessed may commute fox , a
payment in cash the special rates imposed thereon by paying the
portion of the cost of construction assessed upon such lot, without
-- - - - -- -- the interest forthwith, after the special assessment r611 has been
certified by the Clerk, and at any time thereafter by the payment of
such sum as inn invested at Three per cent per. annum will provide
an annuity sufficient to pay the special rates for the unexpired
