HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/17/1966Page 2 - Meeting of Committee of Adjustment, November 5, 1965 - The Secretary reported that 27 notices of the said hearing had been mailed in accordance with item 4 of the Rules of Pro- cedure. Mr. IV. Gordon Cotter appeared in support of this application and explained the separation as presented on the survey. Mr. A. M. Johnston, a property owner within 200t of the applicant's property, also appeared. Mr. Johnston did not oppose the appli- cation. No other person appeared in support of, or in opposition to this application. Municipal water is available and connected to the property upon which severance is being requested. Upon hearing the presentation of Mr. Cotter, the applicant, and upon perusal of the material filed, the Committee were of the unanimous opinion that consent should be granted. It was so moved by K. Schoenmaker, seconded by H. E. Walkey. Carried. The Secretary -Treasurer was authorized to service the said application under Subsection (2x)(10) and (11) of Section 326 of the Planning Act and amendments thereto. Gilkes, a property owner ;d thin 2001 of the applicEu-itTs property, also appeared. l.ir. Gilkes did not oppose the application. No other person appeared in support of, or inoppositior. to this aopli- ca.tion. Yr. Shoobridge stated it had originally been his intention to b,zild one house on the lands purchased from Er. Gilkes. Due to a ,recent back ailment and loss of work and finances, he said, it was now his intention to amply to this Committee for a separ_,tion in order to build a second house for resale on the subject land. This wo,_ild, he remarked, eive him an opportunity y«r. to re-establish his financial position, Gilkes then proposed the following ryuestion: "If the Colmnittee consent to this separation, then ,vould they also consent to a separation on my ycoperty abutting the subject land?" The Secretary t,,as asked to secure a copy= of the D.=a.O. building permit from i_ Shoobrid;;e to ascertain the arproved set back .of •the proposed residential building on the subject lard. The. Committee asked i,:r. 3hoobridLre if the depth could be increased on the subject land to include the small rocket of land southerly of the subject- land. ilr. Teertstra had legally contrac- ted to convert (letter of L.C.1.:ason dated Nov. 17/65 pef.) the property before the passing of the by-law but, unfortunately, due to an oversight the deed had not been registered. The subject land haat been for sale for approximately 9 months be�'ore the passing of the by-law. Upon hearing the presentation of 11r.
