A meeting was held in the office of E. Richard Lovekin
B.A., LL.B., Newcastle, Ontario at 1:00 p.m., January 2, 1969
to discuss the proposed activities of 1969.
It was anticipated that minor variances would be of more
importance in 1969 than severances. The number of severances
would probably decrease as the interim adjustment period was
nearly terminated. If the Zoning By -Law was heard by The
Municipal Board and passed, the number of applications for minor
variances would be substituted in all probability. Because of these
factors, however, a projection based solely on last year is simply
not valid and the budget for 1969 has to be considered on a
completely different basis than 1968.
It was decided that the total amount of money budgeted as
honorarium for Committee"Members should not exceed the total
paid last year of $1,500.00.
The following motion was made by E.F.R. Osborne and
seconded by K. Schoenmaker that payments be made as follows:

The salary of the Secretary -Treasurer was then reviewed and
the Committee were of the opinion that her hourly rate should be
increased. Moved by E. Richard Lovekin.and seconded by K. Schoenmaker
that Mrs. Ellen M. Yeo's hourly rate be increased to $2.50 per hour
commencing January 1, 1969. Carried.
It was moved by K. Schoenmaker and seconded by E.R. Lovekin,
in accordance with the Provisions of the Planning Act R.S.O. 19609
Chapter 296 and amendments thereto Ref. Sec 32 (a) (Sub 9) that
the Secretary -Treasurer correspond with the Council of the Township
of Clarke requisitioning an appropriation in the amount of $5,000.00
to budget for anticipated expenses for the year 1969 for employees
and consultants. Carried.
