1.0 ADOPTION OF MINUTES-(April 15, 2010)
The following motion was proposed:
THAT: "The minutes of the April 15, 2010 meeting are approved without
changes."

2.0 ITEMS FOR INFORMATION
2.1 Road Watch News & Statistics-(Gord Lee)
There were 12 reports online and 11 from the drop boxes. Additional reports had
to be discarded due to incorrect information. There will be a Safety Day in
September at the Firehall#1 and a Road Watch booth will be set up.
DRPS Statistics-(Constable Esther Rathwell)
The Traffic Watch Program has just begun this year. The Traffic Watch staff will
submit their records to the Durham Regional Police Services for a response letter.
Durham Regional Police Services will email the number of response letters they
have written to the driving public for our records.
2.2 Traffic Watch Statistics-(Ron Baker)
Staff reported on the work to-date of the Municipal Traffic Watch program and
distributed the results from the June 15-30th period.
2.3 Reconstruction of Liberty Street, from Baseline Road to King Street East,
Bowmanville— (see letter from Region of Durham)
The May 17, 2010 letter from Durham Region was distributed which stated:
"While we will be examining the priority for the Liberty Street reconstruction as
part of our 2011 Road Servicing and Financing Study which we will produce late
this year, there is no opportunity to advance the reconstruction to this year's
construction season."
Councillor Adrian Foster inquired as to when MTO would resume their 401
corridor study in Clarington given the recent announcements regarding the
phasing of Highway 407.

THAT: "Committee recommends that Council adopt the Clarington Traffic
Management Advisory Committee Terms of Reference (May 18/10 draft)."

3.2 July & August Attendance of Meeting-(Gord Lee)
There will be no meeting in August since the Committee met in July as per the
Committee mandate.
4.0 NEW BUSINESS AT DIRECTION OF CHAIR
4.1 Line Painting on Westside Drive-Bowmanville
The line painting on Westside Drive just north of Abernethy Crescent is not
continuous. Ron Baker advised that there is only line painting where traffic
control or traffic calming is required e.g. no parking on one side.
4.2 There was discussion with respect to the perceived increase in pedestrian and
bicycle traffic in Clarington overall.
4.3 Durham Region has reviewed traffic issues at intersections on Enfield Road.
Foliage will be cut back, and line painting and signage will be reviewed.
4.4 Tim Horton's has been approved at Aspen Springs and Hwy. 57 and the
intersection will be signalized.
5.0 NEXT MEETING DATE- September 16, 2010-7:00 P.M.
