Schoenmaker, Member E.F.R. Osborne, Member, Mrs. Ellen M. Yeo, Secretary -Treasurer The minutes of meeting December 7, 1972 were approved on motion by K.,Schoenmaker, seconded by E.F.R. Osborne. Carried. The Committee considered correspondence under date of. January 18, 1973 addressed to E.R. Lovekin, B.A. LL.B., from B.W. Collins, A.M.C.T., Clerk -Administrator- Rea Resignation°of the Committee of Ad'ustments - "The above resignations were submitted to Council at their last meeting (January 16, 1973) and a motion was passed as follows: Moved by C.A. Reid and seconded by R.G. Chater that this Council does not accept the resignation of the Committee of ,Adjustment and a recorded vote was taken to which all Council gave an affirmative vote (yes). Also enclosed you will find a true and certified copy of by-law 41746, re: appointing Coir. E.F.R. Osborne to the Committee of Adjustment. Council hopes that the members of the Committee of Adjustment will recind their resignation and continue in their positions as members of the Committee of Adjustment. BWC/jes Clerk -Administrator The Corporation of The Township of Clarke By -Law. 1746 By -Law .to repeal by-law number 1743 WHEREAS under the terms of Section 2449 sub -section 1, of the Municipal Act, there could be some doubt as to the validity of By -Law 4-1743. AND WHEREAS it is advisable to remove any such doubt; AND WHEREAS it was and is unnecessary to reaffirm the appointments of Mr. E.R. Lovekin, and Mr. Klaas Schoenmaker, as their previous appointments had not and have not expired; AND WHEREAS this Council is empowered by Section 41 of the Planning Act, to appoint members of the Township Committee of Adjustment in compliance with the require- ments as set out in that Act; NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY ENACTED that Mr. E.F.R. Osborne be and is hereby re -appointed as a member of the Committee of Adjustments for the` Township of Clarke, for a term of three years, terminating on January Y, 1976; This By -Law hereby repeals By -.Law 1743. The Committee of Adjustment have treated the vote in Council as an unanimous vote of confidence and in view of these circumstances they have decided unanimously to stay on at the present time. Lovekin B.A. LL.B., Chairman "Before we commence our meeting this evening, I have ` one brief statement to make in order to clarify certain matters published in the local press regarding the tendered resignations of this Committee. Nothing has occurred that arose out of any action on the part of this Committee of Adjustment. This Committee is a semi -judicial body; required by law to render a specific decision on particular individual facts placed before them. For reasons still unknown to this Committee
