As the lead person with Horticultural Society Jeany Barrett chaired the meeting.
1.1 Motion by J. Barrett, M. Thorley
That G. Bell co—chair with I Barrett "Carried"
2.1 The committee will brainstorm, plan and implement ideas for raising $75,000.00
towards the Garden Project. Trillium Foundation application is for$123,000.00.
At this point the application is at the second stage, we are hoping to have an firm
answer by mid February.
Motion by G. Robinson, seconded by K. Touw
That our first fundraiser be held on April 12011 in the Auditorium of
Newcastle Community hall presenting a concert by Hotel California tribute
band to the Eagles. Ticket cost will be $25.00. "Carried"
- Munchies and Mingling from 7pm to 7:45 pm
- Concert 8 pm
- Goal to sell 250 tickets
- Ask Lions club to bartend as donation
- Floor plan of project to be put up on Easel or backdrop supplied by B.
Carmichael.
Obtain pricing on 100 posters
G. Robinson will check into advertising on radio and obtaining sponsors to
pay for band, lighting and posters.
G. Bell will do seating chart and handle ticket sales
P. TheYton will print up tickets
Will need 2—4 bartenders, 4 ushers for seating, 4 ticket sellers.
S. DeJong will get liquor license

- Budget $200.00 for meal for band prior to concert. B. Carmichael and P.
Thexton.have offered to prepare and serve meal at their home.
- We must supply beer, water, sandwiches, fruit tray for band prior to and
during performance. K. Touw will see if she can get fruit tray donated.
- G. Robinson will supply glasses for bar
- Suggested we will need 1 bottle of each rye, rum, vodka and 8 — 10 cases of
beer. We will discuss with Tom who handles Lions Bartending for advice.
- J. Barrett will talk with New Massey House and Dee's Harvest Table about
munchies
- J. Barrett will update service groups and put together a sponsor letter for G.
Robinson to give out.
- G. Bell to talk with J. Carauna from Community Services about putting
display up at rec centre
Next meeting will be February 22 at 7 pm
