REPORT ON PROPOSED STREAM DIVERSION,
IAT 30, CONCESSION 5. CLAM R NSHIP.-
The development of four building lots on this site necessitates the
diversion of an intermittent stream close to the east boundary of the
property. Such a diversion requires Council approval under By -Law
1634 of the former Township of Clarke. For these reasons, the
proposed drainage plans submitted by the applicant's Engineer were
circulated to the following agencies for comments -
1) Durham Regional Health Unit
2) Town of Newcastle Engineering Department
3) Ganaraska Conservation Authority
A staff report on this subject was presented to the Planning Advisory
Committee on May 129 1975. This report recommended that permission
be granted, subject to adequate grading, baric stabilization and
setbacks from the water course of all buildings.
The Committee passed a resolution tabling this application pending
a more detailed report from the Ganaraska Conservation Authority.
After this meeting, letters were sent to the Ganaraska Conservation
Authority and the Ministry of Natural Resources requesting detailed
report on this proposed diversion. Both the Conservation Authority
and the Ministry of Natural Resources stated that they had no
objections to this proposal. It is therefore reoommended that Report
No. 125 be lifted from the table and approved.
Respectfully on mi ted,
IL
kf8rP. Howden`,
Planning Director.
