REPORT ON LETTER SUBMITTED BY W.J. WALLACE
RE: TAUNTON HYLAND GLENS ESTATE
The letter attached to this report was sent to the Region and
was subsequently forwarded to Council. The letter concerns a
proposed 66 lot rural estate development proposed for lot 27, part
269 Concession 5 of Darlington Township. This 115 acre site,
north of Taunton Road and east of Mitchell's Corners, is unserviced
by municipal water supply and sewage facilities. It is designated
Rural in the Official Plan and is zoned Agricultural.
An Estate Residential development is not a permitted use under
either of these designations. Before further consideration can be
given to this plan, an amendment to the Official Plan changing the
site designation to Estate Residential and a subsequent rezoning
to Estate Residential are required. As yet, Mr. i;.allace has not
submitted an application for an Official Plan Amendment.
It is, therefore, recommended that the applicant be advised
that he must apply to the Region for the required Official Plan
Amendment.
