HomeMy WebLinkAbout75-126REPORT NO. 126 REPORT ON APPLICATION BY JUSTINE HOLDINGS FOR SITE PLAN APPROVAL FOR A SHOPPING CENTRE A site plan has been submitted by Justine Holdings Ltd. proposing the development of a Shopping Centre on Part of lot 30, Concession 2, Township of Darlington. The site is located on the south-east corner of Highway 2 and Trull's Road and was zoned Cl (Local Commercial) until the passing of the recent Courtice holding by-law No. 75-27. Shopping Centres are per- mitted in Cl zones but the by-law provides that no shopping centre may be established unless a site plan is approved by Council. However, in the Courtice Concept Plan, the greater part of the site has been designated residential, with a service station proposed for part of the site and a major arterial road disecting the property through the middle. Because this proposal is at variance with the Courtice Concept Plan, it is recommended that consideration of this site plan be deferred at present and that the plan be treated as a submission requesting a change in the Courtice Plan.
