HomeMy WebLinkAbout1949,1% THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF BOWMANVILLE BY -LAW N0. 1949 BY -LAW TO APPOINT PLACES FOR HOLDING THE NEXT MUNICIPAL ELECTION AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WI%W THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF BOWMANVILLE ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the places mentioned in Schedule "A" hereto are fixed as the places in the several Polling Sub - divisions for holding the next Municipal Election and that persons named in the said Schedule "A" are hereby appointed the Deputy Returning Officers and Poll Clerks. 2. That the said Deputy Returning Officers hereby appointed shall be paid the sum of $20.00 for holding the election hereinafter mentioned. *4w3. That the Poll Clerks hereby appointed shall be paid the sum of $16.00. 4. That the Election Assistants hereby appointed shall be paid the sum of $16.00. 5. That the fee paid each person renting a Polling Place shall be paid the sum of $20.00 per poll. 6. That the nomination meeting for candidates for the Mayorality, Reeve, Deputy- Reeve, Councillors, Public Utilities Commission and Board of Education shall be held on the 26th day of November 1965, at half past seven o'clock in the afternoon. 7. That the election shall be held on Monday, December 6th, 1965, the 1%W polls to continue open from 9 o'clock in the morning until 6 o'clock in the afternoon. 8. That the following may appear on the several ballot papers: "Voters entitled to vote for one candidate as Mayor for 2 years; 1 candidate as Reeve for 2 years; 1 candidate as Deputy -Reeve for 2 years; 6 candidates as Councillors for 2 years; 2 candidates as Public Utilities Commissioners for 2 years; and 6 members for the Board of Education for 2 years ".
