REPORT ON PROPOSED STREAM DIVERSION,
(LOT 309 CONCESSION 5, TOWNSHIP OF
CLARKE)
The development of four building lots on this site neces-
sitates the diversion of an intermittent stream close to the
east boundary line of the property. Such a diversion requires
Council approval under by-law 163+ of the former Township of Clarke.
For this reason, the proposed drainage plans submitted by the
applicants engineer were circulated to the following agencies for
comments.
(1) Durham Regional Health Unit
(2) Town of Newcastle Engineering Department
(3) Ganaraska Conservation Authority
On the basis of their comments and a further consideration
of the situation, it is recommended that permission for said
stream diversion be granted, subject to adequate grading and bank
stabilization. It should be noted and the applicant should be
advised that he will still require relief from the provisions of
the Clarke Zoning b•y-law regarding setbacks from watercourses
before he can build on any of these lots.
Respectfully submitted,
