REPORT ON PROPOSED GENERAL DISCUSSION
As members are aware, the meeting of April 14 will be the second
meeting of the P.A.C. within one week's time. The previous meeting on
the Interim District Plan required a great deal of preparation on the
part of staff and consultants. In the four working days since that
meeting I have had two O.M.B. hearings and several other matters to
attend to. The result is that I have not been able to produce any rep-
orts on matters outstanding except for the report on the proposed New-
tonville study.
When I discussed this matter with the Mayor, he suggested that,
if it was not possible to get any staff reports ready, the members of
the Committee might be given an opportunity to raise for discussion any
matters which are of concern to them. These might range from some as-
pect of the Committee's procedure to matters of general planning philos-
ophy.
For the past year and a half the pressure of business has required
the Committee to confine itself to an established agenda which has been
prepared for it. Here then is an'opportunity for members to raise any
matters of personal concern which not have appeared on any agenda. To
give a little order to the discussion, I would suggest that the Chairman
be advised of any matters which members wish to raise before the discus-
sion begins.

Geobge F. Howden,
Planning Director.
