SUBJECT: Hourly Collective Agreement
The following are comments and recommendations to consider when
negotiating a new agreement.
Article 11 - Union Committee �a'r
11,01 Recommend a Union Committee composed of not more than

Article 13 - Probationary Employees
13.01 Recommend probation for a period of two (2) consecutive)
months.
Article 21 - Tools Equipment and Clothing
21.03 Recommend clothing supplied to be turned in when requesting
replacement; also, limit per year of suggested clothing. 'V/
Article 25 - Vacations /O
25.06 Recommend for each week of vacation, one week's salary
at the current rate.
Schedule "A" - Wages and Job Classifications
3. Recommend addition of one classification to include backhoe,
bulldozer, front-end loader and street sweeper.
Recommend in view of the above deleting item #3 whereby a $0.10 per o a
hour premium is paid for the mentioned equipment.
Schedule "B" - Hours of Work and Working Conditions
1. (b) Twenty-four (24) hour notice of a change in starting time;
failing such a,notice, a premium of $0.25 per hour will be yL..
paid for the duration of the first changed shift.
Comment: Item #1 (b) is impossible to administer the majority of
the time.

4. Meal Allowance
Comment: Employees required to work more than three (3)
hours past their normal quitting time, or when
called out in an emergency for more than three
(3) hours, shall qualify for a meal allowance
to a maximum of $2.75.
In summary, this item entitles an employee to time and a
half for hours worked plus $2.75 for a meal allowance if
worked more than three (3) hours.
Terminology to be changed from Town Engineer to Director
of Public Works throughout the agreement.
