SUBJECT: Tree Planting on Former Orono Dump Site, Lot 33, Concession 6
DATE: October 27, 1976
Some time ago, Mr. Willsher, the Orono Boy Scout leader,
requested a proposed area where they could be permitted
to plant trees. At that time, the subject site was
recommended.
This past week the site was inspected in order to arrange
the ordering of trees for next spring. During the
inspection, it was found that some cleaning up and
grading will be required prior to any tree planting.
I feel the necessary grading must be carried out in
planning this as a re -forested area.
Since current plans are to plant part of the proposed
area the first Saturday in May 1977, 1 would recommend
that a portion of the suggested grading be carried out
immediately.
