Detour Concession Street Bridge

Preliminary engineering is being done on the above-
mentioned subject this year. Although it has not
been determined which year this project will be
done --1977 or 1978 --the question of closing this
section of Concession Street or providing a detour
has come up. An estimated cost to provide a detour
during bridge construction is $20,000 to $25,000.
In considering the cost involved for such a short
period of time (approximately 14 weeks) and in view-
of the existing road pattern in that area, I cannot
recommend that a detour be provided. The Works
Committee, however, should consider and take action
on this matter at this time.
