SUBJECT: Grant Edwards, Road Allowance Betwimen Lots 10 and 11
Known as Liberty Street
DATE: June 23, 1976
The above-mentioned subject was referred from Council
to Public Works.
Attached is a copy of a letter and an O.L.S. plan of
the subject property and its location.
Mr. Edwards' existing property fronts the lake with a
cottage situated on the lot as shown on the plan. As
stated in the attached letter, the cottage is situated
almost entirely on the road allowance. This road
allowance, known as Liberty Street, continues to the
lake shore.
Due to the location of the subject road allowance, I
cannot recommend closing that portion or conveying it
to the abutting owners. I would recommend an
occupancy by-law on a, year-to-year basis similar to
action taken on George Street in the Village of
Newcastle.
