MEMORANDUM -- No- 37
TO: Bruce Tink, Chairman of Public Works Committee
FROM: J. Dunham, Director of Public Works Department
DATE: February 51 1976
SUBJECT: Bowmanville Cemetery By-law
When this proposed by-law is passed by Council,
I relate to duties of the owner. One of the
mentioned duties being that the owner shall
appoint a Secretary -Treasurer.
Since the operation of this cemetery is being
administered out of the Public Works Office,
I recommend that the supposedly appointed
Secretary -Treasurer also work in the Public
Works Office.
Duties of the Secretary -Treasurer are clearly
stated in the by-law and therefore, these re-
cords must be readily accessible in the office
that is administering the actual operation.

In the past year and a. half the above men-
tioned subject has partly been under this
Committee and partly under other various
Committees.
To eliminate duplications and confusion and
in all fairness to the Superintendent who
by the way is quite capable of running the
Cemetery, I would recommend that the entire
operation be under the Community Services
Committees whereby the Superintendent can
attend Committee meetings from time to time
