SUBMT: Request for closing road allowance between lots 8 & 9,
Concession 6, Clarke.
DATE: January 21, 1976.
The first request for closing the subject road allowance was
submitted by Mr. Wilson Carson of R.R.#1, Newtonville to the
Council of the former Township_ of Clarke on or about the
first of November, 1973•
We note the following resolution No. 191-73 relative to Mr.
Carson's request.
"Now be it therefore resolved that this Council hereby accept
Mr. Carson's request and the Clerk be authorized to initiate
the appropriate proceeding to stop up and close the original
allowance for road and to provide for the sale thereof to the
abutting owners.
The said portion of road allowance being more particularly
described as follows -
Commencing at the south-east angle of lot 9, Concession 6,
and extending northerly a distance of 2635 feet more or
less".
In accordance with the foregoing resolution Mr. M. D. Brown
was requested to prepare a preliminary Reference Plan.
Mr. Brown was unable to complete the Reference Plan in 1973 and
therefore the matter carried over into 1974 at which time The
Town of Newcastle was in existence.
By letter, dated November 15, 1974, Por. Brown submitted ten
copies of a preliminary Reference Plan to this office.
In the interim, Mr. Carson has sold his property to one Mr.
C. Ways of 92 Railside Road, Don Hills.
Mr. Waye, by letter dated December 45, 1975, and addressed to
Councillor Itiyall, has requested that proceedings be started to
close the subject road allowance and to convey same to the
owners of abutting lands.
A copy of Mr. Waye's letter together with a key map showing the
location of the subject road allowance is attached hereto.
