SUBJECT: Joint Utilities Coordinating Committee Fleeting
March 15, 1974

On Friday, March 15, 197+ the second meeting
mentioned above was held at the Flying Dutchman
Motor Inn. (The first meeting was of a more
informal nature to introduce the various members
invited and to determine whether or not it was
felt beneficial to hold subsequent meetings.
The decision was affirmative.)
Representatives of the Town including Councillor
Hobbs and myself met with others from BellCanada,
Cable T.V., Consumers Gas, Bowmanville P.U.C.,
Ontario Hydro, a Contractor Ron Robinson who does
installations of Cable T.V. and underground hydro,
and Tom Black, a Senior Engineer with a Consulting
Engineering firm representing a number of Developers
in Newcastle.
At this meeting I was appointed Chairman for the
first year and Tom Black as Recording Secretary.
Minutes of the meeting are not yet available from
Mr. Black at the time of the writing of this report
for presentation to the Works Committee and will be
done when so provided to me.
However, it was suggested that subsequent meetings
might be held in the new Police building in
Bowmanville, the second Friday of each month if
space was available. This has since been confirmed
by the Clerk.
