RECOMMENDATIONS:
Tt is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
1. TNAT Report PD-3U-87 be received for information.

For the information of the General Purpose and Administration Committee, Staff have
prepared the attached list of applications to the Committee of Adjust-nent for the meeting
~f December 18, 1986. This list includes the file number, applicant's name, site
location, type of variance requested, Official Plan Conformity, By-law Conformity, Staf f's
comments on the applications and the Committee of Adjustment's decision.

APPLICATIONS:
A 75/86 - Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Lot 28, Conc. 5, Clarke
Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to construct a Commercial Building
(Bank) leaving a 0 side yard, instead of the required 1.25 m side
yard and having a driveway width of 5.79 m, instead of the required
6 m and providing 5 parking spaces, instead of the required 7
parking spaces.
Roman Turczyn appeared in support of this application. Ralph
McInnis appeared with concern to the parking provided. No other
person appeared in support of or in opposition to the application.
Moved by Mr. Murdoch, seconded by Mr. Reicheld,
"THAT as the proposed Commercial Building appears to
conform with the intent of the Officical Plan and the
provisions of the Zoning By-law, and as there appears
to be other short-term parking avialable in the area,
permission is GRANTED to construct the Bank leaving a
0 (zero) side yard, having only 5 (five) parking spaces
and a reduced driveway width of 5.79 m. The application
is also to provide a 3 ft. sidewalk along the edge of the
building."

Committee of Adjustment Meeting, December 18, 1986.......
A 77/86 - Jacob W. Tenninga, Lot 11, Concession 3, Darlington.
Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to construct an addition to the
existing accessory building making a total of 742 sq. ft., instead
of the required not more than 40% of the main building total floor
area.
Mr. Teeninga appeared in support of this application. No other
person appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.
Moved by Mrs. Payne, seconded by Mr. Murdoch,
"THAT as the requested variance would not appear to
offend the intent of the Official Plan or Zoning By-
law and would not appear to have a detrimental effect
on the surrounding properties, permission is GRANTED
to construct an addition to the existing accessory
building making a total of 742 sq. ft., instead of
the required not more than 40% of the main building
total floor area."

A 78/86 - William S. & Lorraine M. Lover, Lot 28, Conc. 2 Newcastle Village.
Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to create a lot with a frontage of
16.5 m, instead of the required 18 m frontage.
Mr. & Mrs. Lover appeared in support of this application. No
other person appeared in support of or in opposition to this
application.
Moved by Mr. Barrie, seconded by Mrs, Payne,
"THAT as the requested variance would not appear to
offend the intent of the Official Plan or Zoning By-
law and would not appear to have a detrimental effect
on the surrounding neighbourhood, this variance is
considered minor in nature and permission is GRANTED
to create a lot with a frontage of 16.5 m."

Committee of Adjustment Meeting, December 18, 1986....
A 79/86 - Henry Scherer, Lot 34, Concession 3, Darlington.
Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to continue the use of an accessory
building which is .406 m from the main building, instead of the
required 1.2 m from the main building.
Mr. Scherer appeared in support of this application. No other person
appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.
Moved by Mr. Barrie, seconded by Mrs. Payne,
"THAT as the requested variance would not appear to
offend the intent of the Official Plan or Zoning By-
law and would not appear to have a detrimental effect
on the surrounding properties, permission is GRANTED
to continue the use of an accessory building which is
.406 m from the main building."

OTHER BUSINESS:
Moved by Mr. Rehder seconded by Mr. Murdoch,
"THAT the decision of A 73/86 be amended to read
'Herring opposed' and the minutes of the last
meeting be approved as corrected."
