RECOP9NiENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-209-87 be received for• information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
~or• the information of the General Purpose and Administration Committee, Staff have
pr•epar•ed the attached list of applications to the Committee of Adjustment for• the meeting
of August 6, 1987. This list includes the file number, applicants name, site location,
type of variance requested, Official Plan Confor•mi ty, By-law Confor•mi ty, Staff's comments
on the applications and the Committee of Adjustment's decision.

APPLICATIONS:
A 57/87 - Harvey Snyder, Lot 14, Concession 1, Bowmanville.
Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to construct a 528 sq. ft. accessory
building which would exceed the maximum requirement of not more than
40% of the main building total floor area.
Ralph Tucker appeared in support of this application. No other
person appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.
Moved by Mr. Barrie, seconded by Mrs. Payne,
"THAT as the requested variance would not appear to
offend the intent of the Official Plan or Zoning By-
Law and would not appear to have a detrimental effect
on the surrounding neighbourhood, the variance is
considered minor in nature and permission is GRANTED
to construct a 468 sq. ft. accessory building."

Committee of Adjustment Meeting, August 6, 1987.......
A 59/87 - Darrell Crawford, Lot 17, Concession 4, Darlington.
Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to construct a 425 sq. ft. addition to
the existing legal non-conforming dwelling, such dwelling being located
within an Environmental Protection Zone.
Mr. Crawford appeared in support of this application. No other person
appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.
Moved by Mr. Barrie, seconded by Mr. Reicheld,
"THAT permission is GRANTED for the applicant to
construct a 425 sq. ft. addition to the legal non-
conforming dwelling located within an Environmental
Protection Zone located in Part Lot 17, Concession
4, Darlington. This permission is conditional to
the approval of the C.L.O.C.A."

A 60-87 Allan Tamblyn, Lot 30, Concession 2, Darlington.
Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to construct a 468 sq. ft. accessory
building which would exceed the maximum requirement of not more than
40% of the main building total floor area.
Mr. & Mrs. Tamblyn appeared in support of this application. No other
person appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.
Moved by Mrs. Payne, seconded by Mr. Barrie,
"THAT as the requested variance would not appear to
offend the intent of the Zoning By-law or Official
Plan and would not appear to have a detrimental effect
on the surrounding neighbourhood, this variance is
considered minor in nature and permission is GRANTED
to construct a 528 sq. ft. accessory building, thus
making a total of 608 sq. ft. (56.5 sq. m) including
the existing accessory building."

"THAT Application No. A 58/87 be deferred to the
next meeting of the Committee of Adjustment to

Moved by Mr. Reicheld, seconded by Mrs. Payne,
"THAT, in the absence of our chairman, Mr. Bernhard
Herring be appointed as acting chairman for this
meeting."

Moved by Mr. Barrie, seconded by Mrs. Payne,
"THAT the minutes of the last meeting be approved
as circulated."

Appeal date for the foregoing applications is September 5, 1987.
Next meeting of the Committee of Adjustments is August 20, 1987.
