A By-Law or t'ba Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville to authorize the
construction of certain works as Local Improvements under the , hoc al
a Improvement Act
' REAS petitions have been received by the Council for the construction
as Local Improvements for the works set forth in Schedule " A " hereto
annexed and the Clerk has certified that the petitions are sufficiently
signed , and it is expedient to grant the prayer of the petitions in the
manner herewith provided .
'
AND WEI 'I EAS the Council has procured reports in regard to the works as
required by Section 38 of the Local Improvement Act ,
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the . Town of
Bowmanville enacts as follows ; -
First ; -
That the report procured. by the Council in connection with ,th e
3 works set forth in Schedule " A " hereto 'attached be , and the
same are hereby approved and adopted .
Second ;
f That the works set forth in Schedule " A " hereto attached shall
_ be constructed on the street between the points a thereon
mentioned as Local Improvements tinder the i provi s�.u��� of the _.
Local Improvement Act *
Third ;
That the Engineer of the Corporation do forthwith make plans,
profiles and specifications and furnish such- information as may
be necessary for the , making of, a contract for the execution of
the work .
Fourth
That the work shall be carried on and executed under' the
p supervision and a carding. to the direction and order of such
engineer .
Fifth ;-
That tte Mayor and Clerk be authorized to cause, a contrs►et for the
a =A
construction of the work to be m de and entered into with some
k person . or persons , firm or corporation, sub' ect th the approval of
this Council to be declared by resolution.
'Sixth ;-
That the Treasurer may, subject ' to the approval of Council , agree
_ with any. Bank or person , for the temporary advances of money to ,
meet the cost of the works pending the completion_ of ... 17V.-_, ,
Seventh ; --
_... That the .special -asseasment for each of the skid works shall be
paid by the number_. of instalments as set - forth in Column 6 of
the said Schedule " A "

That the debentures to be issued for the loan to be effected to
pay for the cost of each of the said works when completed shall
bear interest at such rates as the C ounei 1 may Bete rmi w and shall
be made payable on the instalment plan within the number of ye ars
as shown in column 6 of said Schedule " A "
Nath;-
That any person whose lot is specially assessed my oommate for a
payma nt id cash the special rates imposed thereon by paying the
_Aportion of the cost of construct ion assessed upon such lot . without
the interest forthwith, after the special assessment roll has been
certified by the Clerk and at any time thereafter by t he payment
} of such sums as when invested at Three per cent per annum will

unexpired portion of the term as they fall due .
