MEETING HELD MARCH 7 1983

SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO SUPPLEMENTARY AGREEMENT
NUMBER 8, STUDIES OF THE POTENTIAL
OF HEAT UTILIZATION
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. That this report be received; and
2. That the attached Amendment to Supplementary Agreement
Number 8 be approved by Council; and
3. That the attached by-law be adopted authorizing execution
of the Agreement; and
4. That the Clerk forward copies of the Agreement to the Region
of Durham for execution after execution by the Town.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Further to the Hydro Liaison Committee meeting of last December, the
Town has now received (correspondence attached) a finalized version
of the proposed amendment to Supplementary Agreement Number 8.
The amendment provides for the collection and publication of data
relating to the Town, "in order that potential clients of heat utilization
can be provided with a prospectus which sets forth the social and
industrial components which make up the Community of Newcastle".

The Agreement will allow for the publication of a prospectus
using Station "B" account funds in an amount up to $15,000.00.
The Agreement follows on discussions held with Hydro officials by
the Chairman of the Liaison Committee.

BY-LAW
being a by-law to authorize the execution of
an Agreement with Ontario Hydro, amending
Supplementary Agreement Number 8
The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to execute on
behalf of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle and seal with
the Corporation Seal, an Agreement between Ontario Hydro and the
said Corporation, amending Supplementary Agreement Number 8 in
respect of Heat Utilization.
