REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 13, 1982

SUBJECT: SUPPLEMENTARY AGREEMENT NUMBER 8
STUDIES OF THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAT UTILIZATION
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. That this report be received; and
2. That Supplementary Agreement Number 8 (Heat
Utilization) be approved by Council; and
3. That the attached by-law authorizing
execution of the agreement be forwarded to
Council for adoption; and
4. That on execution by the Town the Clerk
forward the agreement to the Regional
Municipality of Durham for execution.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
As outlined in the attached letter from Mr. J. McCredie (August 13, 1982), the
attached agreement has been presented to the Hydro Liaison Committee and the
Committee has recommended that the agreement be approved and executed by the
Town (Resolution #HL-14-82 July 22, 1982).
The change in wording noted by Mr. J. McCredie is acceptable to staff.

Enclosed in triplicate is Supplementary Agreement No. 8 of the
Hydro/Newcastle/Durham Agreement authorizing Studies of the Potential for
Heat Utilization - Darlington GS W , for execution on behalf of the Town
of Newcastle and forwarding to the Region for their execution.
This final writing of Supplementary No. 8 conforms to that
conveyed to Ontario Hydro in the Agenda of the Hydro Liaison Committee
dated July 22, 1982 with one exception: page 3, paragraph 4, after the
word "Upon", the words "acceptance of" have been added. This change has
been made at the request of Corporate management. We trust that it is
acceptable to both the Region and the Town.
Kindly arrange for the return of this Supplementary for execution
by Ontario Hydro upon the canpletion of the above actions.

being a by-law to authorize the execution
of an Agreement with Ontario Hydro
The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
THAT the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to execute on
behalf of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle and seal with
the Corporation Seal, an Agreement between Ontario Hydro and the
said Corporation, with respect to Supplementary Agreement No. 8,
Heat Utilization.
