SUBJECT: STATUS OF ROAD CLOSING
LOTS 26 and 27, CONCESSION 9
FORMER TOWNSHIP OF CLARKE

RECOMMENDATIONS:
That this report be received; and
2. That a meeting be convened with representatives
of the Long Sault Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club,
Ministry of Transportation staff, Ministry of
Natural Resources staff, Town staff and
representatives of Mrs. R. Beaucage to discuss
the closing of the road allowance between lots
26 and 27 in Concession 9 of the former Township
of Clarke.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
As Members of Committee are aware, the matter of the closing of the road
allowance between lots 26 and 27 in the former Township of Clarke, has
been discussed on several occasions and representations made by the
Long Sault Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club as to the continued use of the
road allowance as part of a trail system.
Sometime ago, the decision was made to undertake the procedures necessary
for closing the road allowance as requested by the abutting property
owner R. Beaucage. Staff have completed negotiations on the value of the
subject road allowance and are satisfied that the most recent appraisal
performed on behalf of the Town and the applicant jointly, is fair and
reasonable.

In order that the conveyance can be completed as requested, it would be
appropriate to attempt to resolve, if possible,.the concerns of the
Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club. This matter may be of interest to Members
of Council and is brought forward at this time as a matter of interest.
Please note representatives of the above noted groups have been forwarded
copies of this report.'
