By-law 2020-085
Being a By-law to Appoint a Deputy Clerk
Whereas subsection 228(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001 grants the Municipality the authority to
appoint a Deputy Clerk who shall have all the powers and duties of the clerk under the
Municipal Act, 2001 and any other act;
And whereas, arising out of Report LGS-006-20, Council deems it necessary to make changes
to appointment by-laws;
Now therefore the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington enacts as
follows:
John Paul Newman is appointed Deputy Clerk for The Corporation of the
Municipality of Clarington.
2. This by-law shall take effect on January 4, 2021.
