HomeMy WebLinkAboutADMIN 17-81CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE REPORT TO COUNCIL ADMIN. 17-81 40 TEMPERANCE STREET SOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO L1 C 3A6 REPORT #7 TELEPHONE 623-3379 MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 21st, 1981 RE: Extension of Draft Plan Approval 18T-19720 Part of Lots 29 and 30, Concession 1, Town of Newcastle (East Woodbridge Developments Ltd.) ------------------------------------------------------------------- RECOMENDATIONS: It is recommended that: 1. That this report be received; and 2. That Council adopt the following resolution: "The Council of the Town of Newcastle hereby requests the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to extend the draft plan approval of Subdivision 18T-19720 for a further nine-month period, to June 30th, 1982". 3. That the request in (2) above be forwarded to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and Ministry Staff and that East Woodbridge Developments Ltd. be so advised. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: As Members of Council are aware, the attached correspondence was discussed at the Planning and Development Committee meeting of September 14th, 1981. Representatives of East Woodbridge Developments Ltd. attended the Planning and Development Committee Meeting and requested that the draft plan approval be extended for an additional one-year period to September 30th, 1981. Staff have reviewed the request and note that the draft plan approval has been extended on several occasions since 1972 (when the plan received initial approval). Staff have recommended in the past that the draft approvals be extended on the basis that changes in the �) i°�� ........2 ON REPORT TO COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 21st, 1981 ADMIN. 17 -81 housing market have not permitted the development to proceed on an economic basis. Staff also note that a subdivision agreement has been negotiated on this particular plan but not executed.
