RE: Proclamation and Display for FIRE PREVENTION WEEK,
October 4th to 10th, 1981

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Is it respectfully recommended that
1. This report be received; and
2. That Council provide direction to staff as
to how they wish to proclaim "Fire Prevention
Week".
BACKGROUND AND
COMMENT:
The attached request has been forwarded to the Chief
Adiainistrative Officer from the Fire Chief and appears self-
explanatory. Council's policy in respect of such proclamations
would not allow for the publication of a "Fire Prevention Week"
Proclamation. Council's policy would allow for the posting of
a suitable notice on the Community Events Bulletin Board
only.
It appears that in previous years, the Town has
published a suitable Proclamation Notice in the local papers.
This matter is therefore brought forward for Council's
direction.

SUBJECT: Proclamation and Display for Fire Prevention Week
Please find attached a copy of the Proclamation for Fire Prevention
Week for 1979 and 1980. You will note that they are 2 different
sizes.
I would recomiend that the Proclamation be 5" x 8" and appear in
all the local newspapers in the Town of Newcastle.
Also this year we are proposing to have a display for Fire
Prevention Week at the Bowmanville Mall.
The account which is being billed for this advertisement is
##7102-206-001-2-3-4.
