for the Corporation ' s consent to the Be 11 Telephone Company of .
'Canada oonstrueting its Lines upon the highways , streets , bridges ,
and other public places of the Corporat i nn , and to authorize the
Road Supe ri nt a ndan t to supervise and approve the cons t riot ion of
such lines.

WHEREAS the Bell Pe1ephone Company of Canada to empowered by its
pecial Act of Incorporation ,
43 � ( Dom ) to,
construct , erect and maintain its line or lines of telephone along the
sides of and across or uhder - any pub.110 highways , streets , bridges ,
water-courses , nor other such places , or across< , or, under any navigable
waters either wholly in Canada or dividing Canada from any ot.he r
country , subject to the terms therein set forth; and
WWREAS sub-section 2 of Section 373 of the Railway iset ,, R.B.C. 1927 ,

WHEREAS t he Bell Telephone Company of Canada has carried on its business s`
In the Town of Bowinanville for 'a number' of years and has established
its. lines of telephone upon the pub lid highways, streets , bridges ,
and other public places with'in the said Town -of Bowmanvi lle and cont inues
so to do , and. will from time to time hereafter , require to construct
addit ionallines upon the' public. highwayew streets,, bridges , and. other
such places within the said Town of Bowimenvi Ile for the purpose ' Of its '
business.
lE IT THERRFORE, MACTRD , by the C orporat ion of t he Town of Bowrnanvi l 1e
as a By-Law thereof as -f of lows; - -

Act R .S .C. . 1927; Chapter 170 ,, the ' $aid Corporation hereby consents t o
the construction by the Bell Telephone Company of Canada of all lines
of , telephone and telephone plant he,re' o fore constructed upon , along, {
across or Ander the highways , squares , bridges anal, public places wi thin

construction by the Bell -Telephone Company of Canada from time to time
hereafter 'of all such . line.. or lines of telephone as it requires'' for the
purpose of its business upon , along , across or "under any , or all of the
highways , dquares , bridges , or public places- within the said , Town of
Bowma.nville , under, the jurisdiction of this. Corporation ; Provided ,
however , that the construction , of all such lines and plant by . the Bell ,

therewith:

In the event of the Road Superintendant or ,other properly qualified
body or person deeming i t necessary to regtteat t he Company to move , aster
or re-arrange its line: or lines of telephone and or other plant for the
purpose of widening , improving or relocating a hi ghway of the Corporation
or for an otherpurpose .� the Road Superintendant may, give to the said
Company an order t o do such work as • he deems neaeseary ; and he may enter

Into an agreement with the said Company for, the apportionment of the
cost of the sa td work between the C orporat t on and the Company, and any
eu.oh agreement entered into by the said Road • Superintendent shall
be
vilid and fully binding upon the said Corporation , provided that the
share of the cost to be borne by the Corporation under the terms of the
said agreement shall not ex seed the sum of 200. 000
