BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: As Members of Council are aware, Specification No. 81-10 was considered by — Council on November 30 1981 and referred to the General Purpose and Administration Committee for further consideration. Staff have now had the opportunity to further review the Specification and believe that the tender should be awarded as recommended above. Staff have reviewed the tender specification and note that the list of sidewalks, walkways and parking lots has been adjusted to avoid any duplication with existing boards or their groups. The administration of the tender has been discussed and has been arranged so that there will be no possible conflict between contract staff and full-time municipal staff. The contract will also cover certain employee parking areas adjacent to municipal buildings and will relieve the Fire Department from requiring their own snow removal equipment.
