Horne, Recording Secretary CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by the Chair. ADOPTION OF AGENDA Moved By: M. Van Dyke Seconded By: S. Laing THAT the Agenda be approved. MOTION CARRIED APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF June 22, 2004 Moved By: D. Climenhage Seconded By: S. Laing THAT the minutes of the Board Meeting of June 22, 2004 be approved. MOTION CARRIED BUSINESS ARISING a)Kirby United Church: The Administrator advised the condition of the Church has been determined as very good and the site for the Church quite suitable, and that a report to Council should be ready for September 20, 2004. b) Regional History Project: The Administrator advised the project was proceeding on time and that the murals would be constructed by Monday next. The Board was also advised that two tours have already been booked for the new display. The completion date for this project is October 15, 2004 and the next Board meeting will be held just before October 15 so that the members will be able to tour the new site. CORRESPONDENCE Moved By: J. Rowe Seconded By: J. Vinson THAT the correspondence be received. MOTION CARRIED COMMITTEE REPORTS: a)Finance Committee Report: The Finance Chair reported on the expenditures and revenue to date. It was noted that the Sarah Jane Williams site had not charged an admission fee until recently as the site had not been fully completed. The Administrator advised there is now a museum pass available for all three sites. The Finance Chair stated that the year was expected to end on budget. Moved By: Councillor Pingle Seconded by: J. Rowe THAT the Finance Committee Report be received. MOTION CARRIED b) Collections and Event Planning Committee Report: The Collections and Event Planning Committee Chair submitted a report on acquisitions donations. Moved By: T. Oke Seconded By: J. Rowe THAT the Collections and Event Planning Committee Report be received. MOTION CARRIED ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT: The Administrator reported that the display at the Canadian National Exhibition went well. The Alfie Shrubb run had not been as successful as other years, but that the Committee was looking into the problem. The Board was also advised that the computer system had been completely updated and all sites were operational, thus providing system availability to all staff. The plumbing at the Clarke Museum has been fixed by the Town and the office there is being renovated. Upcoming museum events include the display at the Orono Fair, semi-annual book sale at the Clarke museum, and the history tours of both Newcastle and Orono. Moved By: J. MOTION CARRIED DATE AND PLACE OF NEXT BOARD MEETING The next meeting of the Clarington Museums and Archives Board will be held on October 13, 2004 at the Sarah Jane Williams Heritage Centre, commencing at 7:00 p.m. ADJOURNMENT: Moved By: J.
