HomeMy WebLinkAbout99-33 THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON BY-LAW 99-33 Being a By-law to establish a Reserve For Ontario 2000 Summer Games. WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington considers it desirable to establish a Reserve for Ontario 2000 Summer Games for disbursement as required for implementation of the games. AND WHEREAS Chapter M.45, Section 162(2) of the Municipal Act R.S.O.,1990, provides that "In preparing the estimates the Council shall make due allowance for a surplus of any previous year that will be available during the current year and shall provide for any operating deflict of any previous year and for the cost of collection, abatement of and discount on taxes and for uncollectible taxes and may provide for taxes that it estimated will not be collected during the year and for such reserves as the Council considers necessary." NOW THEREFORE, Be it Enacted and It Is Enacted as a By-law of the Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington as follows: 1. THAT the Treasurer be authorized to establish a reserve entitled "Ontario 2000 Summer Games"; 2. THAT this Reserve be used for disbursements as required for implementation of the Ontario 2000 Summer Games, and; 3. THAT the Council may by By-law direct the use of any surplus funds for any other purpose for which it has the authority to spend monies. By-law read a first and second time this 22nd day of March.
