RECOP~ENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-53-87 be received; and
2. THAT the application filed by Mr. H. Kassinger on behalf of Kassinger Construction
Limited, be referred to Staff for further review in conjunction with a proposed
Plan of Subdivision.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Un December 12, 1986 the Planning Department received an application for rezoning filed by
Nlr. H. Kassinger on behalf of Kassinger Construction Limited. This application for
rezoning is to permit a part of the proposed subdivision to be developed on lots which
have frontages of less than 15 metres. This 15 metre frontage is the minimum permitted
under the current zoning designation of "Holding - Urban Residential Type One ((H)R1)".

On January 2, 1987 the Planning Department received the application for a
P1 an of Subdivision for this site. This is currently in circulation.
Staff are preparing general amendments for the Uffici al Plan for Court ice
and this site shall be included in these amendments. The location of the
Cviajor Collector and the deletion of the "Minor Open Space" designation are
being considered in the context of the Courtice review.
The subject lands are currently zoned as "Holding-Urban Residential Type Une
((H)R1)" and "Environmental Protection (EP)" in the Town of Newcastle
Comprehensive Zoning By-law 84-63, as amended.
Staff are currently reviewing the comments related to each of the
subdivision and rezoning applications. At this time insufficient
information has been received for Staff to bring forth a recommendation. At
the time when all comments have been received, a report will be brought
forward with Staff's recommendations.
