RECONLMENDATIONS:
THAT this report, #CD-70-87, be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On Tuesday, October 20, 1987, this matter was brought to trial in the Provincial Offences
Court located at 132 Church Street, Bowmanville and heard by His Worship Owen Lent.
Mr. Brian Irwin, By-law Enforcement Officer, represented the Town of Newcastle. A conviction
resulted and a fine of $53.75 was assessed.
The matter was prosecuted under former Town of Bowmanville By-law #1982, the same being in
existence at the time the offence occurred. the maximum penalty allowable under said
by-law was $50.00, exclusive of costs.
