CD-40-85 - File: 10.50.5. SUBJECT: SEPARATE SCHOOL DETERMINATION 1985 MUNICIPAL ELECTION RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that this report be received for information. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: Pursuant to Section 113 of The Education Act, R.S.O. 1980, a determination has been made with respect to the distribution of Trustees for the combined Separate School Zone of the Peterborough-Victoria-Northumberland and Newcastle Roman Catholic Separate School Board. As required by the said Act, the Clerks of the four County Municipalities having successively the greatest equalized residential and farm assessment for separate school purposes in the zone, met in Newcastle on August 23rd 1985, and confirmed the determination prepared by the Clerk of the Town of Newcastle. Re: Determination for 1985-1988. Our File: 10.50.5. A determination has been made pursuant to The Education Act, R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 129, Section 113, and there is no change in the allocation of Trustees. The number of Trustees remains at five (5) Trustees for the one City and eleven (11) Trustees for the County Municipalities in the Zone. • A further determination was made on August 23rd 1985, pursuant to Section 113(8) by four of the County Municipalities having successively the greatest equalized residential and farm assessment for Separate School purposes in the zone, (D. W. Oakes, Town of Newcastle; W.B. Bates, Town of Lindsay; B.W. Baxter, Town of Cobourg, and N.K. Kyle, Township of Ennismore). The determination report is enclosed and indicates the municipalities to be represented by each Trustee. Section 113(21) provides for the nomination and election procedure governing Separate School Trustees.
