Marie Knight Stanley chaired the meeting.
1. ADOPTION OF MINUTES
There was not a quorum to adopt the minutes at this meeting.
2. LUCKY'S RETIREMENT
Lucky the fire dog is retiring from duty and to celebrate this event, the Fire Department
along with Animal Services are holding a BBQ on Saturday, September 16, 2000 from
10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Animal Shelter in Bowmanville. Staff interested in
helping with the event are very welcome.
3. APPOINTMENT TO ANIMAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE
There will be an ad in the paper in Novemb(:r for appointments to the Boards and
Committees. Terms expire end of December, 2000. Letters will be mailed out in
January to the successful applicants.
4. NEW BUSINESS
There is a new web site called pet posting.com listing lost and found pets along
with pets to be adopted. Excellent service.

NEW BUSINESS CONT'D.
- Laurie Ovendon is bringing the scrapbook in to be laminated. Will be available
to display at Lucky's Retirement.

- Animal Shelter received a donation from Morris Funeral Home on behalf of
relatives of a deceased person who loved animals.
- Rabies Clinic will be held at the Garnet Rickard Recreation Complex on
Wednesday, September 20, 2000 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Scugog Signs are preparing a standalone sign for use at events to identify the
Clarington Animal Shelter. The sign has the Animal Shelter Logo, address and
telephone no.
- Sheila received information from Pet Smart re: Christmas promotion.
5. NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be at the call of the chair.
6. ADJOUNRMENT
The meeting adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
