The Committee conducted a meeting while on a tour of several cemeteries located
within the former Clarke Township.
1. CEMETERY MAINTENANCE
John Bate advised that he has contacted all of the individuals who have been
performing the maintenance on the cemeteries and, with the exception of Terry
Maye, all are willing to continue for 2010. John advised that he will find an
individual to look after the Brown Family cemetery.
Moved by T. Maye, seconded by L. Suchan
THAT the rate of pay for the maintenance of the Brown Family cemetery be
increased to $350 per year.

Paul Vaneyk stated a declaration of pecuniary interest with respect to the issue
of fees for maintenance of the various cemeteries and refrained from discussion
and voting on the subject matter. His daughter-in-law performs the maintenance
on the Long Sault Cemetery.
Moved by T. Maye, seconded by L. Suchan
THAT the individuals who provide maintenance at the various abandoned
cemeteries receive a $15 increase/cemetery in their fees from 2009.

THAT Roger Brown be requested to perform two cuts/year on the Nay & Staples
Cemetery.

2. MCLEAN/ELLIOTT/NEW CONNEXION CEMETERY
The Committee will clean, paint and repair the closure of the gate. One large
stone at the west side of the cemetery requires straightening to alleviate it falling
down.
3. WHITE/PORTER CEMETERY
There are some stones behind the cairn which need to be repaired and erected.
4. LAWRENCE/WADDELL CEMETERY
The plaque has come loose from the cairn and needs to be reattached.
5. BETHEL CEMETERY
The Committee will undertake a cleaning of the stones in June (date to be
determined at a later date).
6. PROVIDENCE CEMETERY
Some stones have come away from the east side of the cairn. These need to be
reattached.
7. FUTURE MEETING
A working meeting will called in June. At that time, the Committee will meet at
the Bethel Cemetery and undertake a cleaning of the stones.
