1. ADOPTION OF MINUTES
Moved by Pat Rundle, seconded by Adrian Foster
THAT the minutes of the meeting held on July 8, 2004 be approved.

2. PRESENTATION
Ron Collis, Opinion Research Corp., made suggestions on how to promote the
Business Awards of Excellence. He will prepare a proposal and present it at the
next meeting October 7, 2004.
2. SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS
a) Business Awards of Excellence
This matter will be discussed at the next meeting.
b) Transportation
There is now a second Handi Transit Van available in Clarington.
Blue Line Drivers are taking sensitivity courses.
c) Operations
Mr. Norm Hannan is concerned about lips on the sidewalk. The Engineering
Services Department will look into this.

Audio Signals have not been installed as of yet.
d) Site Plan Review
There were no new items discussed at this meeting.
4. COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP
The appointments will be considered by Council on September 13, 2004.
5. OTHER BUSINESS
Councillor Foster suggested that the 2005 Rick Hansen Wheels in Motion
campaign be held in the Darlington Park. It was suggested that members of the
committee should test the route to determine accessibility.
6. NEW BUSINESS
Moved by Councillor Foster, seconded by Pat Rundle
THAT the Brian Duffey be excused from the Committee Meetings during his
illness.

7. DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next regular meeting is scheduled to be held on October 7, 2004 at 6:30
p.m.
8. ADJOURNMENT
Moved by Pat Rundle, seconded by Councillor Foster
THAT the meeting adjourn at 7:54 p.m.
