ZURBA) PART LOTS 19 and 20, CONCESSION 7, DARLINGTON OUR FILE: 18T-81023 RECOMFIENDATIONS: Tt is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. THAT Report PD-137-87 be received; and L. THAT Council adopt the following resolution: "THAT the correspondence from the Region of Durham, dated April 28, 1987, be received and the Region of Durham be advised that the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle has no objections to the extension to the draft plan of approval of Plan 18T-81023, as revised May 23, 1984, to July 9, 1988"; and 3. THAT the request in Condition No. 2 above, be forwarded to the Region of Durham Planning Department and that Mr. A. Goheen, on behalf of Sunny Ridge Corporation be so advised. BACKGROUND AND COIhMENT: A copy of the attached letter was received by the Planning and Development Department on April 30, 1987. The letter, addressed to Staff, noted that draft approval with respect to Plan 18T-81023 as revised will lapse on July 9, 1987 pursuant to the Planning Act unless an extension is granted prior to the lapsing date. The Region is now considering to grant ...2 ~!'(~> REPORT NO.: PD-137-87 Page 2 such an extension. Accordingly, Regional Staff request confirmation of the status of the Plan of Subdivision as previously recommended for approval by the Town of Newcastle. Staff would note for the Committee's information that a Development Agreement has been completed and sent to the applicant for execution thereof. It is Staff's understanding that the Agreements are to be returned forthwith, and could conceivably be registered before July 9, 1987. In consideration of the above-noted comments, Staff would have no objections to the extension of draft plan approval for a further one (1) year period to July 9, 1988 with respect to Plan 18T-81023. This would ensure adequate timing for the above-noted registration. Respectfully submitted, Recommended for presentation to the Committee 1 r'~ --.~~-v._ ,; . war s, M. .I.P. , ~wrence ~ otse Director of Planning Chief A i~'strative Officer LDT*TTE*jip *Attach.
