RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-125-87 be received; and
2. THAT the Region of Durham be advised that the Town of Newcastle has no objections to
the Industrial Draft Plan of Subdivision 18T-8 7028 submitted on behalf of B ramale a
Limited; and
~3. THAT the Region of Durham be requested to investigate the extension of services
north of the 401, being Lots 33 to 35, Concession 1, former Township of Darlington,
within the Town of Newcastle to facilitate consideration of this area for prestige
industrial development; and
4. THAT a copy of said report be forwarded to the City of Oshawa Planning Department.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On April 15, 1987, the Planning Department received a copy of an application submitted on
behalf of Bramalea Limited to permit the development of an industrial draft plan of
subdivision, within Lots 1 and 2, Broken Front Concession (Beaton Farms), immediately

adjacent to the westerly limits of the Town of Newcastle. In reviewi ng
the draft plan, Staff would offer no objections, however, would request
that in consideration of the anticipated servicing facilities required
for the industrial park, the Region of Durham be requested to investigate
the extension of services, north of 401; being Lots 33 to 35, Concession
1, former Township of Darlington to facilitate consideration of this are
for Prestige Industrial development.
Accordingly, the recommendations within said report reflect such a
request for Committee and Council's consideration.
