'PHER~aS it is deemed necessary in the interest of safety
and quietude to regulate the setting off and sale of fire~,rorks;
NOtJ THt;R33FORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township
of Darlington pursuant to the provisions of Section 3~g(1) paragraphs
30 and 31 of The riunicipal <~ct~ I.S.O. 1960, Chapter ?49} hereby
EN~:CTS n3 FOLLO~IS:
1. No person shall sell at retail in the Township of Darlington any
fireworks of any kind or description whatsoever at any time during
the calendar year with the exception of three business days
immediately preceeding the day set by Statute for the observance
of Victoria Day and Victoria llay and except the three business
days immediately preceeding the day set by Statute for the
observance of Dominion Day and Dominion Days except by special
authority of the Council,
2. No person shall sell by retail in the said Township of Darli_n~;ton
any fireworks of any kind or description whatsoever to anyone
under the age of eigYiteen years.
3, PTo person who proposes to sell fireworks of any kind or description
at retail shall exhibit any display of any such fireworks in any
display window. This prohibition shall not apply to prevent
imitation of such fireworks being disala3=ed provided there is no
explosive or chemical contained in such imitations.
~t. IJo person shall fire or set off or cause to be fired or set off
any fire balls squib, crackers or fire~.aorks of any kind ohatsoever
within the limits of the Township of Darlington except on the days
set by :Statute for the observation of Victoria Day and/or Dominion
Day and then only if on his or her own property. Provided that if
specially authorized by a permit issued by the Council of the said
Township of Darlington any person zt}ay fire or set off fire works
in other places or on other days. Such permits shall define the
location ~ti*here the fireworks are to be set off and shall require
that all fire tiaorks that !nay be set off under such permit shall be
under the supervision of a responsible person of at least twenty-one
years of age.

vri thin the To~r_ship of Darlington at an~* time.
5. nll by-laws or parts of by-lurrs Inconsistent with this by-law
are hereby repealed.
7, F:ny person who contravenes any provision of this by-law shall
upon convictionz be liable to a penalty not exceeding ,50.00
recoverable under the Summary Convictions '>ct~ all the pro*risions
of which shall apply except that imprisonment may be for the term of
not more than twenty-one days.

8. mhe precisions of this By-law shall be deemed to be in effect from
the date of the final passin; thereof.
