HomeMy WebLinkAbout2429A by-law to authorize the sale of lands to Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada. WHEREAS the Corporation of the Township of Darlington holds part of Lots 5g and 60, north of Temperance Street according to Shortt's Plan of the Village of Hampton, more particularly described in Schedule "A" 9ereto, for public purposes but no longer requires the said lands. AND WHEREAS the Corporation of the Township of Darling- ton has agreed to sell the said lands to Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada at the consideration hereinafter set out, NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town- ship of Darlington HEREBY ENACTS as follows: 1. That the Corporation of the Township of Darlington sell and convey to Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada that part of lots 59 and 60, north of Temperance Street, as shown on Shortt's Plan of the Village of Hampton, more particularly described in Schedule "A" hereto, for the price of $5,000.00. 2. That the Clerk and Reeve be authorized to sign the co~-.- veyance of the said lands and impress the Corporate Seal thereon. H. Shortt, dated January 31, 1857 and registered in the Registry office for the Registry Division of the West Riding of the County of Durham on the 14th. day of April, 1857 and being formerly part of Lot 17, in concession 5 of the Township of Darlington, which said parcel or tract of Land may be more particulary described as follows; Premising the Southerly limit of Lots 59 and 60 to have a bearing of North 38 degrees, and 56 minutes East and relating all bearings herein, thereto: - Commencing at the South-Easterly angle of said Lot 60: Thence North 51 degrees, 0 minutes West along a fence, marking the existing Easterly limit of Lot 60, a distance of 150.0 feet: Thence South 38 degrees, and 56 minutes West, 132.28. feet :Wore or less to the Westerly limit of Lot 59: ~Theace Sout Si degrees Eest along said ;k~esterly limit, 150.G faet to the South 'Aesterly angle of Lot 59: 'T'hence North ,38 degrees, anti 56 minutes East along the Southerly limits of Lots 59 and 60 a distance of 132.28 feet more or less, to the Poirt of Cormnencement: The above described lands are nha~~n an a plan of survey made by H.
