WHEREI.S clause 26 of subsection 1 of section 1 of the
Highway Traffic Act (R.S,O. 1960, Chapter 172) provides that:-
"through highway~~ means any highway or part of a highway designated
as such by the Minister or by By-law of a Municipality approved by the
Departments and every such highway shall be marked by a stop sign or
yield right-of-way Hign in compliance with the regulations of the
Department:
NOW THERt~FORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township
of Darlington enacts as follows:-
1. The following highways or parts of highways under the
jurisdiction of the Municipality of the Township of Darlington are
designated as through highways:-
Scugog Roads formerly County Road Ido. 57, from a point
900 feet north of the south limit of Concession 3, to
the south limit of Taunton Roads as widened and from the
north limit of llaunton Road to the north limit of
Concession 10.
2. The designation in section 1 of this By-law of a highway or
part of a highway as a through highway ~rhall not include any
intersection thereon where the road intersected is a Kings Highway
or where traffic control signals are installed.
3. This By-law shall not become effective until approved by
the Department of Transport and until signs are on display in
compl~~nce tirith the regulations of the Department.
