HomeMy WebLinkAbout2289A Bylaw to authorize an undertaking to commemorate the One Hundreth Anniversary of • Confederation in Canada. WHEREAS the One Hundreth Anniversary of Confederation in Canada will occur on July 1st, 196; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Township of Darlington is desirous of commemorating the said Centennial; NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority of the Confederation Centennial Act, 1962-63, and regulations thereunder, the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Township of Darlington hereby enacts: 1. A Building, to be known as Darlington Centennial Museum, shall be erected on the site of the original Conant homestead in Darlington Township. 2. The Building shall be, as nearly as may be possible, a replica of the original log cabin, believed to have been the first home in this Township. 3. Upon completion of the project, the building will be turned over to the Ontario Department of Lands and Forests, as arranged with officials of that Department. ~+, A sum of money, not exceeding X10,000.00 shall be included in the Township s estimates of expenditure for 1965. 5, The Reeve and Clerk are authorized to make such applications, and to execute such documents as may be necessary for the carrying out of the project.
