WHEREP.S it is deemed expedient to provide for members of
Council, an annual allowance and an allowance for exp enses incurred in
the performance of the duties attendant on the office;
THEREFORE, pursuant to the Municipal Act R.S.O. 1960, Chap. 2y,9,1
Sec. !~06, S.S. 1, (g), The Municipal Council of the Corporation of the
Township of Darlington hereby enacts:
1. By-law 2127 is hereby repealed.
2. Annual allowances and allowances for expenses shall be paid as
follows:
To the Reeve - annual allowance ~~.50.00
Expense allowance $250.00
To the Deputy Reeve - annual allowance ~1~00.00
Expense allowance X200.00
To each Councillor - annual allowance X350.00
Expense allowance '150.00
3. The above allowances shall be paid half-yearly.
!~. For each days absence from ordinary meetings the sum of
fifteen dollars shall be deducted from the annual
allowance of the member who is absent, provided that where
a member is absent from the municipality in the
performance of his duties as Councillor, or by reason of
his illness, or a death in the family, the council by
resolution, may provide, that no deduction in his annual
allowance be made in respect of such absence.
