Darlington be and they are hereby appointed. Livest Dock Valu/aJtor for the said
Township of Darlington for the year 1940. The said ~ JJ , `~v for

that portion east of the Scugog Hoad, and they shall within forty-eeight hours after
the notice of the killing or injuringof a sheep,or sheep, or ca.ttle,by a dog or doge
make an inspection of the said killed or injured aheep,or cattle beast and report
in writing to the Council Board of such injuring or killing and give also to the
owner of the beast said to be ikilled or injured , a copy of the resort and the amount
of"damages if any ,and for their services so performeg they shall be paid at the rate
